Fifty years ago, Arnold Palmer was the recipient of an incorrect ruling.  Then when he protested he got a second ruling that was also probably incorrect, but in the end two wrongs probably did make a right. See the full story on ESPN / Golf World’s Masters site.  John Morrissett, the USGA’s director of the rules of golf explains things in the story.

Arnold went on to win the first of his 4 Masters titles.

    Nice to see we have come a long ways in the definitions. I wonder how far a ball had to be in the ground to get a drop from that guy.
